Own Your Learning: AI study activities for learners

This feature gives students three AI study activities inside every unit: Explain It!, Let's Practice!, and Challenge Me!. Learners can start these on their own, whenever they need them, without having to wait for a teacher. Every activity works only from the units, learning goals, worksheets, and content already set up in the learning program, so students can practice the right material at the right level.

How it works

Inside a unit, students see a single entry point called Own Your Learning, marked as AI. From there, they can choose from three activities:

• Explain It! starts a chatbot that explains the unit's topic and answers the student’s follow up questions. Once every question is answered, the chatbot can offer a practice worksheet, but the student decides whether to continue.
• Let's Practice! generates a worksheet for the current unit. Students can shape it around a topic they're interested in, and it can include closed and open ended questions. The system evaluates the answers and gives feedback automatically.
• Challenge Me! starts a chatbot challenge that gets harder as the student answers correctly. The difficulty follows the learning goals the student has already completed, so the challenge keeps pace with what they can do.

Important: These activities run on AI credits, so a workspace admin needs to allocate credits to students first, in Workspace Admin, under Credit Management. Until credits are allocated, students won't see the Own Your Learning panel.

Progress made through these activities also shows up for the teacher, marked separately from formally assessed progress, so it's always clear which is which.

Why it helps

Students already turn to AI to study. This feature gives them an AI that actually knows their curriculum, so their practice stays on target instead of drifting into generic answers. Teachers can also see what a student has worked through on their own, making it easier to spot who's ready for a formal assessment, without waiting for a test to find out.
