What is a Workspace, and how do you set it up?

What is a Workspace?

Your Workspace is your working environment in Redmenta. Think of it as your own space where you do your work — it can be just yours, or you can invite colleagues if you'd like to collaborate.

Your Workspace can be named after your school, your workplace, your private practice, or simply your own name. There are no restrictions — use whatever fits your activity best.

What do you need to provide?

Your Workspace name can be anything — it doesn't have to be an official institution. A few examples:

  • Do you teach at a school? Enter your school's name, e.g. "Springfield Elementary School"
  • Do you work in multiple places? Pick one, or create your own personal Workspace using your name
  • Are you a private tutor? Enter your name or the name of your practice, e.g. "Anna Smith – Private Tutor"
  • Not sure yet where you'll be teaching next year? Create a personal single-user Workspace — you can rename or update it anytime

How to set it up?

  1. Log in to your Redmenta account
  2. After logging in, a blue banner appears at the very top of your dashboard — click the "Setup" button
  3. Enter your Workspace name — this can be your school, your workplace, or your own name
  4. If you'd like to join an existing Workspace, ask the admin for an invite code, or send a join request
  5. If you're creating a new Workspace, simply enter the name and you're done — everything works just as before

Adding your school ≠ joining a school subscription

Adding your school's name does not mean the school gains access to your account or your content. The school only receives supervisory rights if they are paying for the subscription — this does not apply to individual subscribers. You remain in full control of your content.

Collaboration — only if you want to

Your Workspace makes it possible to work together with colleagues — but this is entirely optional. If you don't want to share anything, you don't have to. Simply having a Workspace does not make your content visible to others, and it doesn't commit you to any collaboration.

If you do want to work with colleagues, you can share content, a shared knowledge base, and other settings within the Workspace. Importantly, colleagues with free accounts can also be invited — not everyone needs a paid subscription.

With Workspaces, individual subscribers get access to the same features as group subscribers — no one is left behind.
