Generate images in your worksheet outline

Teachers can now generate images directly inside the worksheet outline editor, without leaving Redmenta or switching to an external tool. This option is available to teachers with image generation enabled on their account. It was built to remove the manual steps that previously made adding relevant visuals to worksheet tasks too slow for everyday use.

How it works

a) Option 1: Image in a task

While building your worksheet outline, a "Generate Image" option is available inside any task. Here is how to use it:

1. Open your worksheet outline and select or add a task.

2. Click on the small image icon to generate the image.

3. Write a short description of the image you need (this is the instruction/prompt for the AI). For example: "The solar system without the name of the planets."

4. Choose a purpose. “Instructional” generates an image designed to explain a concept, with structure and labels. “Decorative” generates an image that adds visual interest.

5. Click on “Generate Image” to start creating the image. 2 AI credits are deducted when generation starts.

6. A loading indicator appears in the task while the image generates.

7. The image appears automatically in the task when it is ready.

8. If the result is not what you needed, you can click on the small pencil icon and regenerate the image using a different prompt (for another 2 credits) or you can also delete the image by clicking on the small trash can icon.

b) Option 2: Image as a standalone element

You can generate an image as a standalone element in the Outline. The process is similar to generating an image within a task:

1. First, hover over the Outline and click the + button between two worksheet elements.

2. From the menu, select Image.

3. Then describe the image you want to generate (for example, a mind map about the solar system, including the main characteristics of all planets).

4. Generate the image, and modify/delete it if necessary. 

IMPORTANT: The AI may also automatically suggest ideas for various illustrations within the worksheet. These appear as separate worksheet elements and are shown in the outline as suggestions. If you decide you like one of the AI's suggested ideas, simply click the Generate button—just as described in the process above—and the image will be created. Credits are deducted only at that point; displaying the suggestions themselves does not cost any credits.

A few things to keep in mind:

• Image generation is only available in the outline editor. It is not available after you click "Bring it to life."
• Credits are deducted when generation starts. If generation fails for any reason, your credits are refunded automatically.
• You can still upload images manually. AI generation is an additional option, not a replacement.

Why it helps
Finding and uploading images separately meant leaving your workflow to search for something that roughly fit, then uploading a file rarely matched to the task itself. With generation built into the outline, relevant visuals are now part of the same process as everything else, and a visually complete worksheet takes no longer to build than a text-only one.
